10. 3-dimensional view
Contrary to the location and measuring panorama windows, you can freely select the observation point in the 3-dimensional view window. This is particularly helpful to design areas which are not visible or only hardly visible on the location and measuring panoramas.
In the following illustration a 3-dimensional view of the REFLEX scenery “Rotors Kliff (Kampen Sylt)” is displayed:
On this illustration, the surface edges are being displayed using the function View, Surface edges F8. In order to navigate in the 3-dimensional view, the following operator's actions are provided:
- Click with the left mouse button on the grey background and drag the mouse with held left mouse button in order to change the view direction. Alternatively, you can also move the scrollbars of the 3-dimensional view window.
- Move forward or backward in the scenery by pointing with the mouse to a target point and scrolling the mouse wheel.
- Move to the left, right, top or bottom by dragging the mouse while holding the mouse button pressed.
- Move in circles around a selected point by clicking on it with the left mouse button and dragging the mouse while holding the left mouse button pressed. The view direction will remain fixed at the rotation point.
- Double-click with the left mouse button on the 3-dimensional view in order to return to the camera point of the location panorama.
- By double-clicking with the right mouse button, the view will be moved in front of the current selected surface in a way that you look perpendicularly on the centre of this surface. If no surface is selected, the view will be moved perpendicularly over the camera point of the location panorama.
Of course, you can also select, create und shift points as well as define surfaces in the 3-dimensional view.
